Abstract

|
An 84-year-old woman presented to our hospital with pain and discolorization of right arm and hand persisting for 2-hours. Angiography revealed acute thrombotic occlusion of right axillary artery. She underwent local thrombolysis with urokinase in conjunction with heparinization. Urokinase was given as a bolus and then infused continuously for 18 hours by femoral artery access with an infusion catheter placed across the thrombus. The artery was recanalized and ischemia of upper extremity was resolved.
